This one’s an experiment in Colorama. And in pushing the limits of aesthetic endurance. This thing is admittedly hard to look at.

Though, there’s certainly a use for almost any visual, no matter how hard it is to look at. See also: 2001: A Space Odyssey. And that one episode of House.

It goes without saying….

Kinda makes me think of the Fortress of Solitude a little bit.

Unrelated, I got to use a bunch of this backgrounds at a concert this past weekend. It made me smile a little inside.

Emorph Dissent

More Fractal Noise! I hope this helps demonstrate the flexibility of the Fractal Noise filter. You can make some really amazing patterns with this thing.

Additionally, for this one, I took about four of the original layers, and rotated them slightly in 3D space, to help generate some different kinds of movement. Though, for these colors, you could hardly tell. But it’s always fun to play around with it.

Brick Rain

I went into this one thinking, “I want to make one that’s funky. Even if people don’t like it.” And so I did.

And you know what? I do like it.

Oh, and yes. This one was made using Fractal Noise as well. Very helpful filter, that Fractal Noise.

Linear Refract

In an effort to demonstrate the flexibility of the Fractal Noise filter, this newest background, Linear Refract, was made using the same filter as the previous background, Glue Amoeba.

I think I’d be interested in writing a tutorial discussing what Fractal Noise can do sometime.

Blue and blobby. Kind of has a blue lava lamp feel to it.
